Reading Café Brings Stories to Life
Before half-term, we hosted a fantastic Reading Café event for our pupils in EYFS and Key Stage One. Parents and carers were invited after school to spend quality time with their children and promote the joy of reading.Pupils eagerly showcased everything they had learned this term and proudly displayed some magnificent models linked to their class books. One class built the three houses from The Three Little Pigs – a brilliant way to make learning come alive!
Other iconic books featured included When Jelly Had a Wobble, complete with a plate of jelly, and a stunning scale model inspired by Mama Panya’s Pancakes, a story set in Kenya.
Children loved reading alongside their parents and carers, picking up plenty of tips and deepening their love for books and literature. The joy on their faces was evident as they shared their favourite stories and discussed the characters and plots with enthusiasm.
The event was a huge success, fostering a sense of community and a shared love for reading. We can't wait to do it all over again and continue to inspire our young learners to explore the magical world of books!
